Trujillo - Chiclayo - Chachapoyas 6 Days

Tour Description

Day 01.- Day 1.- Lima - Trujillo

In late afternoon passengers will be transfer from your hostel to the bus station of Cruz del Sur, for our trip at 21:45 to Chiclayo city in a comfortable bussines class bus with attendant on-board.

Day 02.- Day 2.- Huaca Sol y Luna - Chan Chan Citadel

After our breakfast, passengers will be transfer to the local bus station for take a bus to Trujillo city, the trip during at about 3 hours. A representative will be waiting for you and transfer to the hostel.
The tour start with the temple sun and moon. These ceremonial centers are located in the countryside of the District of Moche, 5 Km. south of the Trujillo City. It was used for ceremonial purposes and possibly in administrative functions as well as for housing for upper class.
We will continue the tour to Chan Chan, which spans an area of 20 square km, is the largest mud-brick citadel dating back to the pre-Hispanic era. To build it, the Chimú architects used clay, mud, pebbles, wood, reeds, straw and cane, materials which enable the citadel to blend in with the sandy coasts. The complex is made up of many cities within a city, each of which has its own single entrance which leads down a corridor that opens up into other passageways lining walls and buildings featuring some marvelous rectangular architecture: inner patios, residences, administrative buildings, temples, platforms and storehouses. The walls were decorated with haut-relief friezes done in geometric and animal figures. The T-shaped platform that housed the king's burial chamber was the most important construction in the complex. We will visit too Huaca Arco Iris and finally the Huanchaco Beach. We will return to the hostel at about 18:30.

Day 03.- Day 3.- Sipan Huaca Rajada Tour - Tucume - Tumbas Reales

Passengers will be arriving to Chiclayo city. A representative will be waiting for you to transfer to the hostel. At about 10:15 start our exciting tour with our escursion to the Sipan Huaca Rajada, two adobe pyramids separated by a huge square and belonging to the Sipan culture, followed by a visit to Sipan museum. The discovery of Sipan was the most important twentieth century archaeological find in Peru. The tombs were intact with many artefacts of silver, gold and copper. The Lord of Sipan was dated to 350AD. After that we are going to the Tucume complex, home to over 26 pyramids. The day concludes with a visit to the Royal Tombs of Sipán exhibits the most important archaeological remains of the Mochica Culture, in an exceptional exhibition that combines maximum scientific accuracy, security and enjoyment to show the jewels, emblems and ornaments found in 1987 in the tomb of a Mochica government leader called the Lord of Sipán. We return to the hostel at about 18:00 hrs.
In the evening passengers will be transfer to the bus station to take the bus directly to Chachapoyas City, the trip take at about 9 hours. Overnight on the bus

Day 04.- Day 4.- Arrival to Chachapoyas - Kuelap Macro Day Tour

A representative will be waiting for you in the bus station to transfer passengers to the hostel Casa Vieja. Leave Chachapoyas at 07:30 and we will visit Macro Ruins, and then with the Fortress of Kuelap. The Fortress of Kuelap lays on a narrow hill which is 3080 meters high. The walls which surround the fortress are from 1 meter upto 20 meters high. The outside walls are made of three tonnes of heavy blocks of rock. The Chachapoya people were defeated by almost 1470 Inkas, but Kuelap was never taken. The spaniards were not the first ones to find Kuelap. In 1843, Kuelap was found by a farmer, then archaeologists from all over the world came to visit it. At 14:30 We leave Kuelap. We can take the lunch in Maria town at about 15:00. After we will visit the Textile Workshop of countryside women. Return to Chachapoyas. At about 18:30 Arrival in Chachapoyas

Breakfast in the hostel. Passengers will be transfer to the bus station to take bus to Lima.

Passengers will be arriving in Lima early morning. A representative will be waiting to transfer you to the hostel in Lima.
